espresso drinks and the art of creating an excellent
beverage. With a little practice and patience, you can
become a great barista. In order to assist you in the
success of your espresso bar, below is our barista guideline
to instruct you in the creation of your favorite espresso
beverage, bringing the taste of Italy right into your
cup!
| Cappuccino Brevè |
Follow instructions for cappuccino but substitute
milk with half and half. |
| Cappuccino |
One shot of espresso with equal parts of steamed
milk and foam. Usually 1/3 amounts of each. Top off
this drink with nutmeg, cinnamon or chocolate powder
on the froth. |
| Caffè Americano |
One or two shots of espresso over a 6 ounce cup
of fresh hot water. |
| Caffè Latte |
One or more shots of Espresso topped with steamed
milk and finished with a quarter inch of steamed
milk foam. |
| Caffè Mocha |
One or more shots of Espresso added to one ounce
of quality chocolate syrup, then filled with steamed
milk. No foam needed. |
| Espresso |
A shot of straight espresso consists of one to
one and half ounce of pure espresso. |
| Espresso Dopio |
A double shot of espresso poured over one shot
of hot water. |
| Espresso Lungo |
2 ounces of espresso. |
| Espresso Macchiato |
A short shot of espresso with one to two teaspoons
of steamed milk foam. |
| Espresso Ristretto |
1 ounce of espresso. |
